About the role

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from patients and collect necessary insurance and demographic information to set up patient accounts.
  • Collect payment for billing inquiries and assist patients with payment collection.
  • Contact patients to obtain appointment information and complete the registration process.
  • Research and update insurance and demographic information on existing patients.
  • Run registration reports and follow up on incomplete or missing account information.
  • Communicate with patients regarding account transactions and eligibility inconsistencies.
  • Document productivity statistics and maintain thorough files and resources.
  • Utilize Payor website systems and tools to accurately complete the registration process.
  • Maintain confidentiality and promote the organization's mission and philosophy.
  • Follow company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Work holiday shifts as required by the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with admitting/registration, insurance claims, or customer service (preferred).
  • One or more years of medical billing customer service experience (preferred).
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to understand, recall, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job duties.
