Patient Access Specialist I | Patient Access | Full-Time | Variable

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate patient account information, including insurance verification and updates
• Affords assistance to patients with billing inquiries and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner
• Processes payments and collaborates with providers and insurers to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
• Reviews and audits accounts to identify and correct errors
• Communicates with patients regarding outstanding balances and available payment options
• Ensures confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or related coursework preferred
• Experience & Skills: 2+ years of experience in patient account management, medical billing, or revenue cycle operations; knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes; experience resolving patient billing inquiries and discrepancies; strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills; familiarity with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards
