About the role
We are seeking a Patient Service Advocate to support a busy healthcare environment by providing exceptional service to patients throughout the scheduling and registration process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, has strong organizational skills, and is experienced in healthcare scheduling and insurance verification.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process patient referrals
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations
- Review and validate procedure codes as needed
- Complete patient registration and update demographic information
- Collect payments and explain applicable fees
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Provide outstanding customer service to patients and internal stakeholders
- Aid in financial transactions, including payment processing and daily reconciliation activities
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare scheduling experience
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
- Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Dental office or dental scheduling experience
- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement processes
- Experience working with procedure codes and insurance plans
