About the Role

Supports patient intake and registration, serving as a primary contact to ensure accurate scheduling, insurance verification, registration, and financial clearance while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
  • Register patients and maintain accurate demographic data
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
  • Explain financial responsibilities and payment options
  • Obtain consent and privacy documentation
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of healthcare registration, scheduling, or customer service experience
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology
  • High school diploma or GED; insurance verification experience required
  • Healthcare certification or associate degree preferred
