Job Summary
Seeking a Patient Access Specialist to answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, route calls, and communicate with colleagues and providers. This role serves as a liaison between patients and practice support staff.
- Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
- Select and inform patients about accurate insurance carrier plans and any out-of-network options
- Inform patients of testing requirements and communicate orders/tests with practice staff as needed
- Ensure all required information is accurate and complete in the practice management tool/EMR
- Communicate with office colleagues and patients as necessary using appropriate systems
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- One year of customer service experience preferred
- One year of high-volume phone/call experience preferred
- One year of medical terminology/healthcare experience preferred
