Patient Access Representative (Per-diem, Variable Shift, Bakersfield)

About the role

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a Patient Access Representative for a per-diem role with 8-hour variable shifts. We are looking for a qualified and dedicated individual who can work onsite at our Bakersfield, CA location.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration
• Interviews patients for all pertinent account information
• Verify all insurance and calculates and collects patient liability amounts
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment
• Answer any questions and explain policies clearly
• Check for physician orders and attaches them to appropriate patient record to ensure correct test is received
• Print and collate any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department
• Escorts patients to his/her area or refers patient to available escort as needed
• Choose correct health plan and accurately research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance
• Enter all authorization information accurately as needed
• Follows guidelines and instructions from senior staff
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Schedule

• Per-diem role
• 8-hour variable shifts
• Shift length: 8 Hours

Pay

• The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.91 per hour
• Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc.
