Patient Access Representative (Per Diem, Day Shift)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration.
• Interview patients for all pertinent account information.
• Verify all insurance and calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
• Answer any questions and explain policies clearly.
• Check for physician orders and attach them to appropriate patient record to ensure correct test is received.
• Print and collate any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department.
• Escort patients to his/her area or refer patient to available escort as needed.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Check for physician orders and attaches them to patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.
• Choose correct health plan and accurately research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance.
• Enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
• Follows guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $17.99 to $23.47. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits
