Patient Access Representative, Per Diem, Day Shift

About the role
Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. Interviews patients for all pertinent account information. Verifies all insurance and calculates and collects patient liability amounts. Ensures that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment. Answers any questions and explains policies clearly. Checks for physician orders and attaches them to the appropriate patient record to ensure the correct test is received. Prints and collates any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department. Escorts patients to their area or refers patients to available escorts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Check for physician orders and attach them to the patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.
- Choose the correct health plan and accurately research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance.
- Enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
- Follow guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $29.56 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
