About the role

In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between patients, their families, medical staff, and insurance providers, ensuring clear communication and efficient data management to support healthcare services and financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate information clearly to patients, guarantors, and family members while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Accurately gather and enter information into the hospital’s computer system to expedite data collection, billing, and reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, insurance carriers, and other professionals to assist families in obtaining healthcare and financial services.
  • Operate office equipment such as printers, fax machines, and general office tools.
  • Utilize insurance eligibility software and maintain knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including automated scheduling, registration, collections, and telecommunications applications.
  • Apply proficiency in computer applications, software, and hardware, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of sleep center practices.
  • Multitask and maintain composure in stressful situations, leveraging appropriate resources.
  • Represent the department professionally through excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Completion of a medical terminology course.
  • CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) certification preferred.
  • 1 year of business or medical secretarial curriculum preferred, with an emphasis on customer service and healthcare settings, or equivalent education and experience.

Work Environment
