About the role
Baptist Medical Center MD Anderson is hiring a Full-Time Days Patient Access Representative II to join our BMDA Patient Access Services Department at our Baptist MD Anderson South location in Jacksonville, FL. This small team consists of 2 individuals performing check-ins and 6-10 individuals performing check-outs, working closely alongside patients and providers. The role focuses on helping MD Anderson patients through their medical process by managing schedules and confirming appointments.
Responsibilities
- Register patients accurately and efficiently
- Utilize multiple systems and interfaces
- Cross-train to work in multiple patient access areas
- Maintain service excellence for face-to-face and telephonic patient encounters
- Contribute to PAS goals (e.g., collections, palm scanning) as defined annually
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
- Maintain professional relationships with all clinical and non-clinical team members
- Articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
- Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Requirements
- 1-2 years of customer service experience (required)
- 1-2 years of insurance experience (required)
- 1-2 years of healthcare experience (required)
- High school diploma (required)
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification (preferred)
