Patient Access Representative I, 3rd Shift 2300-0730, Rotating Weekends

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Research, collect, and analyze information to identify opportunities and develop solutions.
• Collaborate on performance improvement activities to enhance program efficiency and patient experience.
• Distribute analytical reports and create educational materials using multiple system applications.
• Support ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives by researching and compiling data.
• Synthesize and analyze data, providing detailed summaries and graphical presentations to support leadership decision-making.
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Trinity Health policies to ensure compliance and ethical behavior.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one (1) year of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic and procedural coding (preferred).
• Experience with insurance verification, explaining benefits, and securing authorizations (preferred).

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to unpleasant conditions, including biohazards and stressful situations.
• Frequent need to follow tasks through to completion, understand complex ideas, and manage multiple tasks.
• Continuous ability to read small print, hear sounds, and perform manual dexterity activities.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, climbing, kneeling, and operating foot controls.
• Frequent use of a computer and other technology.
• Continuous sitting with the ability to adjust position, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Working Conditions

• Work indoors under temperature-controlled and well-lit conditions, with occasional outdoor work and travel.
• Exposure to clinical/patient-facing environments and physical efforts such as transporting and moving.
• Long periods of walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing may be required.
