Patient Access Representative - full-time (remote)

Position Purpose

Saint Alphonsus Health System is hiring for our Revenue Management team to support our Idaho and Oregon patients. This position will be fully remote; work hours are based on Mountain Standard Time. This is a phone-based position, providing patient-focused customer service.

What You Will Do

• Provide patient focused customer service
• Performs outpatient & / or inpatient registration
• Performs insurance verification functions
• Will initiate and secure authorization for scheduled services
• Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of hospital registration or insurance verification experience required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic coding & procedural coding required

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance verification, ability to explain benefits, and secure necessary authorizations
• Experience with Epic software
• National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire

Schedule

Position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week. MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME: Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm. Position is remote (work from home).
