Patient Access Representative - Remote

Job Profile Summary

The Patient Benefit Representative facilitates all components related to insurance and benefit analysis prior to service delivery. They must understand various insurances and stay updated on payor requirements.

Position Details

  • Reviews patient appointments and admissions, obtains information about out-of-pocket financial responsibility, secures necessary authorizations, performs insurance management, and coordinates with insurance companies for timely reimbursement.
  • Serves as a mentor to fellow Patient Benefit co-workers.

Experience And Education Requirements

  • Proficient in level 2 skills/requirements.
  • Preceptor training required.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge And Ability Requirements

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance companies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, and perform daily assignments accurately.

Physical Requirements

  • Possesses the ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Possesses the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
