Patient Access Representative | Dickinson West Clinic | 40hrs/week

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team at the Dickinson West Clinic in Dickinson, ND.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics
• Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms; inform patients about documents and capture necessary signatures
• Establish and assign financial responsibility; assist with payment arrangements while adhering to policies and procedures
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
• Work through the registration work queue to address and resolve registration errors or denied insurance claims
• Coordinate with nursing team and providers to schedule appointments and meet patient needs
• Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorizations
• Arrange interpreter services
• Check patients in and out; operate multi-line phone system
• Resolve work queue issues, manage recall and waitlists, and serve as switchboard operator by calling codes and paging providers
• Prepare and coordinate charts; organize supporting provider documents
• Initiate and collaborate on patient financial assistance
• Track patient visits and health information management on patient accounts
• Compile, distribute, administer, and score assessments
• Coordinate telemedicine appointments and reminder calls for appointments
• Assist with hospital admission and perform office duties such as making copies or sending faxes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education helpful
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential
• Six months’ customer service experience desired
• May require BLS certification for certain locations and/or settings
