Job Summary

Affords assistance in coordinating activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification. Serves as a clinical liaison with physician practices, engaging in pre-visit services. Registers patients accurately with demographic and financial data. Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payments. Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met, including obtaining prior authorizations and referrals as needed. Responds to customer inquiries and assists with departmental coverage as required. Manages daily appointment schedules, including making reminder calls and contacting referrals. May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding (preferred)
  • Knowledge of insurance process and regulations (preferred)
  • Ability to manage conflict effectively and professionally (required)
  • Excellent time management skills, emphasizing meeting time-sensitive deadlines (required)
  • Good customer service skills and interpersonal skills (required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

Oregon West Network - SHMC Outpatient Therapies: Involves chart management, including chart creation with necessary forms, chart note copying for specific insurers, and chart discharges. PHMG and Outpatient Clinics: A strong background in customer service may be considered in lieu of medical office or related experience.
