Patient Access Representative

About the Role

Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team. You will conduct professional patient interviews, obtaining demographic, financial, and biographical information. This position is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence.

Schedule

Thursday 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Understands insurance terminology
• Obtains information to appropriately bill payors
• Verifies patient insurance eligibility
• Confirms benefits eligibility
• Gathers statistical information in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Completes payment transactions by using proper negotiating techniques to professionally collect money owed by patients and guarantors
• Makes referrals to appropriate financial resources, such as payment plans and lines of credit

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience
• Strong computer and critical thinking skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
• Positive attitude and excitement about working with people
