About the role

We're seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Service Representative. Your role will be vital in ensuring smooth patient flow and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and guests courteously via phone or in person
  • Schedule appointments or complete admissions for patients
  • Verify and input accurate patient and guarantor demographic and financial information
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay amounts
  • Perform financial analysis and communicate patient financial responsibility
  • Balance cash drawer daily and prepare deposit slips
  • Represent the organization professionally and provide excellent customer service
  • Support multiple functions across different patient and payer types

Requirements

  • One year of related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel retail and/or customer service related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software specific to the role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to solve practical problems under high stress
  • Excellent decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative working ability with other departments
  • Ability to adapt behavior to specific patient populations

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CHAM, CHAA, or Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and payer guidelines
  • Understanding of Federal, State, and Local billing regulations
