About the Role

St. Peters is looking to hire a PRN Patient Access Rep I. This role is often the first point of contact for patients and requires representing BJC with the highest standard of customer service, compassion, and professionalism. The Patient Access Representative facilitates all components of the patient's entrance into any BJC facility, impacting reimbursement levels and preventing denials through accurate data collection.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a high standard of customer service and compassion.
• Facilitate patient entrance into BJC facilities, handling all related components.
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information accurately to maximize reimbursements and prevent denials.
• Perform benefit verification and point-of-service collections.
• Select the correct patient from the Master Person Index (MPI) to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain knowledge and competence with insurance carriers and Medicare guidelines.

Requirements

• Preferred: 10 shifts per 6-week schedule period (4, 6, 8, or 12-hour increments).
• Preferred: 16 weekend hours per 6-week schedule period.
• Preferred: Work 2 holidays per year.
• High level of emotional intelligence and professionalism.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make personal connections with patients.
