About the Role
This is a Part Time role (24 hours per week) located at Alton Memorial Hospital. The schedule is rotating and requires flexibility to cover Days, Evenings, and Nights in 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities
- Utilize critical thinking skills to problem-solve a variety of situations, anticipating patients' needs and responding appropriately.
- Communicate in a professional, positive, and patient-focused manner with all patients, families, and co-workers, whether in-person, over the computer, or by phone.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, representing BJC with the highest standard of customer service and compassion.
- Facilitate all components of the patient’s entrance into any BJC facility, ensuring a high level of emotional intelligence and professionalism.
- Maximize reimbursements and prevent denials by accurately collecting demographics and insurance information, verifying benefits, and performing point-of-service collections.
- Ensure patient safety by correctly selecting the patient from the master person index (MPI).
- Maintain knowledge and competence with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal, state, and accreditation agency requirements.
