Patient Access Rep Float (PRN) - MTS Coolidge

About the role

We're looking for someone who can greet patients and guests with warmth and efficiency, ensuring they have a smooth experience. Your role will involve managing patient registrations, admissions, and collections, all while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Create, activate, and complete the patient scheduling, clinic registration, or hospital admission process.
• Gather and input patient/guarantor demographic and financial information accurately.
• Explain insurance benefits and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay portions due.
• Perform financial analysis and inform patients of their financial responsibility.
• Balance cash drawer daily, prepare deposit slips, and follow closing cash drawer process.
• Demonstrate respect and cooperation in all staff relationships, and resolve conflicts.
• Adapt to different patient populations and maintain professional communication.
• Other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel retail, and/or customer service experience.
• Preferred certifications: CHAM, CHAA, or Medical Assistant certification.

Skills and Abilities

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software packages specific to the role.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Clerical skills and knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits, referral and authorization processes, and billing regulations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle high-stress situations.
• Collaborative working abilities.
• Sound judgment in handling and escalating difficult situations.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate's degree is preferred.
