Patient Access Rep

About the role

We're looking for a dynamic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Service Representative. Your role will be vital in ensuring smooth patient flow and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests courteously via phone or in person
• Schedule appointments or complete admissions for patients
• Obtain and verify accurate patient information for medical records
• Perform point-of-service collections and manage patient registration
• Verify insurance information using electronic methods or other means
• Improve patient satisfaction through professional interactions
• Support multiple functions across different patient and payer types

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
• Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other relevant certification)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and healthcare-specific software
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle high-stress situations
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Excellent decision-making and analytical skills

Qualifications

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval
• Ability to adapt to various patient populations and situations
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and payer guidelines
• Understanding of Federal, State, and Local billing regulations
