Role Overview: The Patient Access Associate is responsible for patient registration, verifying medical records, and collecting accurate demographic and financial data to ensure proper billing and reimbursement. They work closely with clinical staff to support patient safety and quality care. Key Responsibilities Establish and accurately create patient accounts, linking correct records and avoiding duplication.Complete demographic and financial information in line with department standards.Obtain necessary signatures and explain documentation components to patients.Pre-register scheduled patients and respond promptly to inquiries.Operate department equipment such as fax, copier, and payment machines.Handle discharge processes by entering diagnoses, dispositions, and discharge times.Reconcile charges with vendors and report discrepancies for resolution.Direct patients and visitors within the facility. Qualifications & Skills High School diploma or GED required.Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook preferred.Knowledge of medical insurance is helpful.Customer service and communication skills are essential.Ability to multitask and make decisions effectively.
