Patient Access Lead- Ambulatory Clinics

Job Description

Maintains the workload in Patient Access to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.

• Makes sure the workload of Patient Access Representatives is monitored hourly.
• Serves as immediate support to line staff and supervises as needed.
• Aids the Supervisor in identifying areas for improvement and assists with workflow and special projects.
• Ensures scheduled patients are pre-registered correctly and meet managed care requirements.
• Trains new Patient Access staff and maintains staff work schedules.
• Maintains appropriate tools for staff and reports quality and productivity to supervisor.

Essential Functions

Monitors workload, provides support, identifies improvement opportunities, assists with training, ensures proper tools, maintains quality and productivity, and reports to supervisor.

• Maintains hour-by-hour workload monitoring.

Education Requirement

Requires an Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Two years of experience in scheduling, billing, registration, insurance authorization, or customer service are required. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
