Patient Access I Per Diem

About the role

The Rehab Services Department at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a PER DIEM Patient Access Administrative Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient and therapist’s schedules
• Answer the telephone
• Schedule appointments
• Complete accurate registration
• Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals
• Perform various additional tasks related to patient care and department operations
• Work closely with other team members to ensure positive patient experiences

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience working in a customer service setting, or equivalent education
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital setting
• The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Present in a calm, professional manner
• The knowledge and ability to utilize various computer and online applications
• Present exemplary internal and external customer relations
• Strong relationship building skills
• The knowledge of medical terminology and insurance authorization
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• A general understanding of the impact Patient Access has on Revenue Cycle

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
