About the role
You will manage front office operations efficiently, ensuring a seamless experience for patients, staff, and referral sources. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, verifying and updating patient information, handling financial transactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival
- Provide information on wait times and address inquiries
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
- Handle walk-in registrations
- Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
- Clock in at least 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Coordinate follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
- Serve as a liaison for clinic services
- Offer information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
- Collaborate with the RCM team to obtain necessary patient information
- Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience preferred
- Experience in a receptionist position or medical front office procedures preferred
- Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s standards
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Understanding of Alpha filing system
- Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology
- Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment
