Patient Access Associate
Overview
This job is located in Bloomington, IL, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, with one Saturday per month.
Position Summary
The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, including patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantors, and registration precision. They must also provide clear explanations of services, financial responsibilities, and expectations to patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. Deductive reasoning and logical problem-solving skills are essential for handling complex, multi-payer situations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
- Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation, problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills
- Required to complete all role-specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
- Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
- Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers, knowledge of medical terminology

Pay
Actual pay for this position will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. The expected pay range is $18.80 - $22.12 per hour.
Schedule
This is an Hourly position.
