Patient Access Associate
Overview
This is located in Galesburg, IL. Sunday-Saturday with Varied 1st/2nd shift hours. Will travel to Monmouth.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, including patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor, and registration precision. They must also explain services, financial responsibilities, and expectations clearly to patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. They need to solve complex, multi-payer issues with deductive reasoning and logic skills.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
- Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation, problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills
- Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
- Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
- Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers, knowledge of medical terminology

Pay
Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an Hourly position. Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour.
