Patient Access Associate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
• Preferred: Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
• Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
• Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation
• Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills
• Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Requirements

• Excellent patient service skills
• Solve issues in a complex, multi-payer situation
• Ensure each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record
• Create an exceptional first impression of OSF's services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person
• Responsible for registration precision and understanding of patient services, financial responsibilities, and expectations

Pay

Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
