Patient Access Associate

About the Role

This position involves greeting patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, verifying eligibility, and entering data into electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients with registration and paperwork.
• Direct patients to appointments and assist with scheduling.
• Verify insurance benefits and interpret results.
• Collect co-pays and explain financial programs, referring complex questions as needed.
• Use resources to complete accounts and assist with medical record gathering.
• Mentor new staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old with relevant experience or education.
• Proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED, customer service experience, office experience, and knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and insurance.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Light physical work, lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

Hourly pay range from $18.49 to $25.19, based on experience and other factors.
