Patient Access Associate
Overview
This job is located in Mendota, IL. Primary hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with intermittent travel as needed across I-80 market outpatient rehab clinics.
Position Summary
The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, including patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor, and registration precision. The role involves clearly communicating services, financial responsibilities, and expectations to patients and families, both over the phone and in person. Excellent patient service skills are required to create an exceptional first impression. Strong deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary to resolve issues in a complex, multi-payer environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
- Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation
- Problem-solving, conflict management, time management, and strong oral and written communication skills
- Required to complete all role-specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years of experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
- Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
- Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Pay
Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
Schedule
This is an hourly position with primary hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
