Pathology Support Team Lead

Job Responsibilities

Aid in overseeing the daily operations of the Pathology department.

Lead the team in their daily processes and procedures.

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices.
  • Resolve any production errors as requested by management.
  • Research and resolve production errors while escalating when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Enforce and manage policies and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years or more of pathology experience.
  • 2 years or more of transcriptionist experience preferred.
  • 1 year or more supervising or leading a team preferred.

Additional Job Standards

  • Understanding of laboratory operations and policies and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Physical requirements of the position.
  • Pass a standardized color blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Schedule

Monday - Friday (8:30am-5pm) one Saturday a month.
