Pathology Grossing Technician

About the Role

A Grossing Technician is a specialized laboratory professional who prepares surgical tissue specimens for pathological examination, working under the supervision of Pathologists' Assistants. Key responsibilities include receiving, measuring, and describing specimens, as well as performing gross dissection on routine, low-complexity samples, while strictly adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histotechnician, Histotechnologist, or Clinical Laboratory Technician.
• Must be able to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory tests.

*Candidates with less than 2 years of clinical lab experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience grossing biopsy specimens.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, flexible based on workflow and technician availability (8:00 AM–4:30 PM).
