Pathology Technician

About the role

Provides technical support for the multiple disciplines in Anatomic Pathology by maintaining maximum efficiency and uninterrupted workflow of the laboratory. The Pathology Technician Level I may perform tissue gross examination or dissection in accordance with educational requirements outlined by CAP. Located at the Central Laboratory in Murray, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Performs tissue gross examination or dissection in accordance with educational requirements outlined by CAP and site-specific competencies
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and may dictate comprehensive specimen descriptions.
• Caregivers working in anatomic pathology departments may handle and dispose of hazardous materials, such as formalin.
• Pathology Technician I maintains accurate identification of specimens throughout the laboratory process.
