About the role
MercyOne Health Group is seeking a board-certified/eligible pathologist trained in both anatomic and clinical pathology. The successful candidate will join a collegial group of pathologists and pathologists’ assistants, overseeing medical directorship for two community hospitals, a large multispecialty medical clinic, and a rural access hospital.
The caseload includes approximately 14,000 surgical cases (biopsies and resections), 2,000 non-GYN cytology cases, 8,000 GYN cytology cases, and rare autopsies. Radiologic-guided fine-needle aspirations and EBUS cases are attended for adequacy/rapid interpretation. While no specific subspecialty training is required, cytopathology training is favorable. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical directorship for hospitals and clinics.
- Oversee and interpret surgical pathology, cytology, and rare autopsy cases.
- Attend radiologic-guided fine-needle aspirations and EBUS cases for adequacy/rapid interpretation.
- Participate in clinical lab management and hospital committees, including tumor board.
