Pathology Assistant- Part-Time/Per Diem

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
• Accurately describe, document, and submit tissue sections for histologic processing
• Assist in the preparation and execution of autopsies when applicable
• Photograph specimens and maintain accurate specimen records
• Ensure quality control and compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies
• Communicate effectively with pathologists, histotechnologists, and clinical staff
• Support pathology workflow management and case prioritization during high-volume periods

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science field required
• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program (Master’s level preferred)
• Certification or certification-eligible through ASCP as PA(ASCP)
• Prior experience in a surgical pathology setting preferred
• Strong anatomical knowledge and specimen handling skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Proficient in laboratory information systems and grossing protocols

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
