Pathologists' Assistant - (PER-DIEM POSITION)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathologists' Assistant to join our Surgical Pathology team. In this role, you will perform a broad range of responsibilities related to the examination, dissection, and processing of surgical pathology specimens. You will work closely with pathologists, residents, students, and laboratory staff to support accurate diagnoses, education, research initiatives, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs gross examination, dissection, and processing of surgical pathology specimens, including tissue selection for microscopic evaluation and frozen section preparation.
- Supports pathology education, research, and tissue banking initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance, specimen management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.
- Provides departmental coverage for scheduled time off and vacations, ensuring continuity of operations within the Surgical Pathology service.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Pathology
- Master's Degree in Pathologists' Assistant
Starting Salary
$110,000 +
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of human anatomy, tumor staging guidelines and medical terminology.
- Extensive knowledge of how to approach wide variety of surgical specimens.
- Demonstrates the highest level of technical expertise.
