Job Summary
HCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their North Florida Division is recruiting a Medical Director to be based at HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. HCA Healthcare is a leading provider of healthcare services with over 185 hospitals and 2,400 sites of care across 20 states and the United Kingdom. Our pathology service line aims to deliver quality-driven, evidence-based pathology services in a timely and cost-effective manner for all patients and clients.
About the Role
Pathology Services consists of over 200 board-certified pathologists who provide professional services to approximately 100 HCA Healthcare-owned hospitals and commercial clients. The successful candidate will join a team of two pathologists and will be responsible for overseeing the pathology department and providing expert diagnoses in complex and challenging fields.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the pathology department and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide expert diagnoses in complex and challenging fields
- Manage a team of pathologists and technologists
- Ensure timely and accurate interpretation of pathology reports
- Collaborate with other medical staff to improve patient care
- Participate in continuing education and professional development
Requirements
- AP/CP Board Certification required
- 2 years of hospital-based Medical Director experience preferred
- Comfortable with the full scope of AP and CP
- Recent general surgical pathology and clinical interpretations
- Recent experience performing frozen sections
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing a group
Qualifications
- Florida licensed or ability to obtain
