HCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their West Florida Division is seeking a Pathology Medical Director to be based at HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. Responsibilities
- Employ the best talent to advance care for our patients
- Work cooperatively within diverse environments
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, technical staff, and referring physicians
- Perform frozen sections and other procedures such as sentinel node frozen sections, lungs, orthopedic PMN counts, skin, and brain
Requirements
- AP/CP certification is required
- At least three years of hospital-based experience is preferred
- Proficiency in general surgical pathology, clinical interpretations, and recent experience performing frozen sections
- Subspecialty training or expertise in breast or lung pathology is ideal but not required
Qualifications
- Active Florida Medical License and/or FCVS is a plus

Pathology Volume/Cases
- Volumes – approximately 3,100 surgical cases per year and 200 cytology cases per year
- Procedures – Frozen sections for sentinel nodes, lungs, ortho PMN counts, skin, brain
- Procedures – Approximately 9 to 10 procedures per week and 15-20 peripheral smears per week
