About the role

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is a 392-bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center located in Hudson, Florida. It is home to the nationally acclaimed Heart Institute and recognized for excellence in patient safety and various surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Manage the pathology department, ensuring optimal patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with hospital medical staff, technical staff, and referring physicians to enhance patient outcomes.
• Oversee the processing and interpretation of surgical and non-gynecological cytology cases.
• Work cooperatively within diverse environments and establish positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements

• AP/CP certification is required.
• At least three years of hospital-based experience is preferred.
• Active Florida Medical License and/or FCVS is a plus.
• Comfortable with the full scope of AP and CP.
• Work cooperatively within diverse environments, have excellent interpersonal skills, and successfully establish and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, technical staff and referring physicians.

Qualifications

• Volumes – approximately 3,500 surgical cases per year and 600 non-gyn cytology cases per year.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
