About the Role
Processes specimens for analysis and performs specified surgical pathology procedures under the supervision of the Anatomic Laboratory Manager and Assistant Manager. Follows proper procedures in conjunction with established quality control requirements and procedure manuals. Facilitates communication with the Grossing team members on matters of technical nature.
Responsibilities

- Under the direct supervision of the Anatomic Laboratory Manager, performs dissection and macroscopic description of surgical specimens as outlined in the Surgical Pathology Manual and Grossing Guidelines for non-pathologists.
- Performs routine and more complex laboratory procedures on specimens as directed by the Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Handles special procedures, including frozen sections, specialty biopsies, and fine needle aspirations as outlined in the Surgical Pathology manual and Histology Manual under the active supervision of a surgical pathologist.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited program required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Pathology Assistant preferred.
Qualifications
- Pathologists’ Assistant (PA), (ASCP) Certification required.
