Patent Attorney (3 Years Experience) – Des Moines, IA

About the role

We are seeking a patent attorney to join our Intellectual Property Group of over 40 professionals, to be based in one of our Midwest offices, with the opportunity to work remotely in a hybrid environment. This position will primarily support a shareholder in our Des Moines office and will be paid on our Des Moines salary scale but the individual could be located and work from any of our domestic offices in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin.

We offer broad-based intellectual property opportunities, including substantial patent prosecution (including management of complex patent portfolios), client counseling, freedom to operate, litigation support, and IP due diligence, within a variety of biotech, chem, and pharma technologies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience
• Strong technical background and education in biotechnology, chemistry, pharmaceutical technologies, or related fields
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong academic/professional credentials
• Registration to practice with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office
• J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to promptly become licensed in IA, MN, ND, or WI
