About the role

Faegre Drinker is seeking a junior patent associate with an engineering background to join our dynamic Intellectual Property practice in our Minneapolis office.

Responsibilities

  • 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience (as an agent or attorney).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience working with mechanical technologies.
  • The ability to handle chemical or materials science patent applications as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • USPTO and admission to a state bar from a relevant state (or wave-in capability) required.

  • Compensation for this position in other offices will vary; the anticipated compensation range for other locations is available here.
  • Actual initial salary will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location of where the position is filled and consistent with applicable law.
  • Total compensation and benefits package for attorneys, which includes, but is not limited to, productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.

Pay

  • The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position in the Minneapolis office is $200,000 - $225,000.
