Patent Agent with Aerospace Background

About the role

Venable LLP’s Patent Prosecution and Counseling group seeks a patent agent with an aerospace engineering background and experience with engine technology to join the group working exclusively on technology prosecution matters in the Washington, DC or New York office.

Responsibilities

• Work exclusively on patent prosecution matters
• Use deep technical knowledge to prosecute patents
• Collaborate with patent strategists and litigators
• Advise clients on maximizing the value of their intellectual property portfolios

Requirements

• Registered patent agent with examining experience at the USPTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting
• Undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering
• Industry experience is a plus

Benefits

• Salary range: $160,000 to $180,000 per year, depending upon patent agent qualifications
