Patent Agent (Mechanical or Related Field)

Responsibilities

• Working in all aspects of the patent practice
• Preparing and prosecuting patent applications
• Conducting research
• Leading inventor meetings
• Developing and implementing patent strategies
• Assisting on matters and proceedings before the USPTO
• Participating in personal interviews before USPTO examiners
• Appearing before the Board of Appeals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required
• Graduate degree a plus
• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) required
• Four to six years of patent drafting and prosecution experience preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
