About the role
This team is seeking a Engineer, Home Office Tech II to develop and maintain our Advisor Affiliate end-user computing platforms. The qualified candidate will be responsible for planning, configuring, testing, deploying, reporting on, and supporting corporate physical and virtual images (Mac and Windows OS), proprietary and third-party application packages, application and OS update/patch management (Mac and Windows OS), and physical and virtual configuration management solutions (SCCM, Intune, JAMF), virtual technologies (Citrix, VMware, etc.), and Print Management.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing and new technologies, create innovations and efficiencies in imaging, cloud technology, configuration management, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Engage with end users to ensure that configurations meet their needs while adhering to standards.
- Provide engineering expertise for both physical and virtual environments.
- Create, maintain, and administer standard corporate images, deployment, management, and monitoring capabilities.
- Packaging, testing, and deploying system and application updates/patches to the end-user environment.
- Administer both physical and virtual environments comprehensively.
- Evaluate and test new hardware and software.
- Provide escalation support, including MFA issues.
- Plan, design, and implement upgrades and rollouts of physical and virtual hardware, software, and applications through management tools.
- Develop vision and strategy for the end-user computing environment, including evaluation of emerging technology, software, and hardware road maps to enhance customer efficiency and productivity.
- Support print management.
- Lead technical projects and ensure timely delivery within budget.
- Research and evaluate capabilities and tools to support business initiatives across the organization.
- Incorporate automation into daily processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Adhere to established Change and Problem Management Processes.
- Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for user-related issues.
- Mentor junior team members and provide training on systems and solutions.
- Deliver exemplary high-touch customer service skills, problem resolution, and support internal customers.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in providing technical support for end-user computing within Windows and virtual environments.
- At least 7 years of experience in an SCCM 2012/2016 Administrator or End User Computing role, coupled with over 4 years of experience in Active Directory and GPO management.
- A track record of leading initiatives and projects related to desktop engineering or configuration management for 4-5 years, including SCCM upgrades, infrastructure or topology improvements, and Windows OS upgrade rollouts.
- Experience in application support and OS (Windows/MAC) patch management in medium to large corporate environments with multiple client sites, utilizing tools such as SCCM, Intune, WSUS, and JAMF.
- Proficiency in application virtualization and delivery through Citrix, VMWare, and similar VDI technologies.
