Responsibilities
- Prepares and bakes ingredients to produce breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, or other baked goods in accordance with established standards and recipes
- Assists with daily kitchen functions such as preparing hot and cold food and providing customer service
- Provides ongoing input into the creation of new recipes and menu items
- Ensures all prepared food is satisfactory in quality and quantity prepared and served and stored at proper temperatures and times
- Cleans cooking utensils, grills, ovens, hoods, and other kitchen equipment
- Assists with special projects and provides support where needed to meet production schedules and demands
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of related experience (equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
- Knowledge of culinary environments, techniques, and standards
- Knowledge of allergens, food sensitivities, and dietetic restrictions
- Skill in time management, organization, and multi-tasking
- Ability to use basic mathematical/measuring to follow or scale recipes
- Ability to follow New York State, Monroe County, and university health codes as they relate to health, sanitation, and safety
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service

Schedule varies based on event needs and may fluctuate based on University-wide events and academic breaks.

$19.65-$23.05 per hour
