Pastry Cook
About the role
The Town Club offers a variety of dining experiences, including the Rooftop Terrace and The Grill, which feature fresh ingredients from an Urban Garden and expertly paired wines. As a Pastry Cook, you will work across multiple stations under the guidance of the Chef Patissier or Pastry Sous Chef, ensuring exceptional hospitality and culinary service.
Responsibilities
- Work in designated stations as per Chef Patissier / Pastry Sous Chef's instructions.
- Organize and efficiently manage the assigned work area.
- Prepare and sell food items within recommended timeframes to meet member expectations.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, baking ovens, stoves, sheeters, and fryers.
- Produce quality products in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the work area.
- Prepare and cook a variety of baked goods, desserts, and other food items according to recipes and specifications.
- Ensure proper storage and portioning of ingredients.
- Check supplies, prep lists, and ensure timely preparation of dishes.
- Replenish service lines and prepare the workstation for the next shift.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and report incidents to the Chef Patissier / Pastry Sous Chef.
- Monitor appliance and food temperatures.
- Serve food in proper portions and on appropriate vessels.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, workstations, tables, tools, knives, and other equipment.
- Maintain correct portion sizes and quality of food to Club standards.
- Minimize waste and control food costs.
- Review and follow up on work status and actions with the Chef Patissier / Pastry Sous Chef before leaving.
- Assist in training and developing new cooks.
- Support other kitchen staff as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and quality.
- Good personal hygiene and grooming standards.
- Clear communication, reading, and writing skills.
- At least 1-5 years of previous experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel.
Pay
$23.90/hour
