Pastry Chef/Decorator

Walters Wedding Estates, a Walters Hospitality brand, is seeking professional, self-motivated, skilled cake decorators and bakery assistants to create dream wedding cakes in a fun working environment. This part-time role is ideal for someone who can adapt and learn quickly.

About the role

This is a part-time, on-call position with a fluctuating schedule based on wedding season demand. There may be weeks with no scheduled hours during slow periods. Weekend availability is required for deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Bake cakes and desserts
• Decorate cakes using techniques such as stone, horizontal, stucco, wedding dots, and palette textures
• Work with food coloring, fondant, edible images, and cake design

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of cake decorating experience
• High School diploma or equivalent (culinary degree preferred)
• ServSafe Food Handlers certification or equivalent
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Eligible to work in the United States (E-Verify participation)
• Must pass a background check

Pay

$15–$18 per hour

Schedule

• Part-time, on-call with fluctuating hours
• Normal bakery operating hours: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM
