Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, seminary, divinity school or acceptable equivalent.
  • Three years of pastoral experience in a health care setting with progressive responsibility.
  • Successful completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an approved OSF CPE provider or completion within one year of hire.
  • Other Skills/Knowledge:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
  • Must meet requirements of the local Catholic Diocese regarding the appointment pastoral care staff of a Catholic healthcare institution.
  • Able to work with patients/family, clergy, staff and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds.
  • Able to work flexible hours, programs, and services and take on-call shifts nights and weekends as needed.
  • Able to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Facilities.
  • Able to provide advanced interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, other pastoral care staff, Hospice and Palliative teams, often in times of crisis.
  • Maintain own transportation and auto insurance and abide by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.

Pay

Expected pay for this position is $26.99 - $31.75/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
