Position Overview This organization seeks a full-time or bi-vocational pastor to lead and grow a small Southern Baptist Church located near Athens, Winterville, Lexington, and Watkinsville, Georgia. The church was established circa 1884 and is equipped with a beautiful sanctuary and fellowship hall. Interested candidates may view the church's website at www.ourcorinthbaptist.com. Role Expectations The selected pastor will have the opportunity to pursue secondary employment that supplements his income without interfering with his pastoral duties. The church aims to enhance the compensation package as it grows. The pastor should aspire to foster unity within the church and cultivate relationships within the community, while advancing the church's ministry in accordance with divine guidance. The mission of Corinth Baptist Church is to emulate the example of Jesus by loving God, loving people, and making disciples. Pastoral Responsibilities Deliver sermons on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings (or conduct a teaching service) as well as a Wednesday night service.Provide leadership across all teams and areas of the church.Lead the church in visitation, discipleship, and evangelism.Serve as a shepherd to the congregation and offer counsel as needed. Job Requirements Licensure: Licensed and ordained by a Southern Baptist Church.Experience: Preferred 5+ years of pastoral experience and a seminary background.
